  1. Front Yard Ideas
Think of your front yard as an opportunity to create curb appeal for the achitecture of our home. In my YouTube video How To Add Value To Your Home With Inexpensive Landscaping Ideas, you will see many creative ideas on how to improve the aesthetic of your front yard with many new ideas.
  2. Backyard Ideas
Think of your backyard as an extension of your living space. From a visual experience it is important to carry your sight lines to a focal point in the backyard. Consider how convenient placement of cooking areas, fire pits, water features and areas to relax with friends are with the back exit of your home.
  3. Small Garden Tips
Creating a small garden is a creative opportunity allowing you to experiment with plant you may not typically think of using. Even if your entire garden is waterwise, you may choose to plant a small area with shade loving plants that using more water. Consider Hostas, Bleeding Heart, Cora Bells and Spotted Deadnettle.
  4. Small Herb Garden
Create a small herb garden with a selection of herbs you enjoy cooking with. Common herbs grown in the San Diego area are California Wild Rose, Tule Mint, Yerba Buena, Hummingbird Sage, Thyme, Lavender and Rosemary.
  5. Mulch Tips
Invest in hard wood mulch which looks better and will last much longer than typical much. Mulch will not only help to reduce evaporation and run off but it will over time enhance your soil.
  6. Succulent Wall
You can create a beautiful wall of small succulents to add a creative feature to any garden or patio. Build a wood frame that will hold small clay pots and then plant a variety of succulents to show off the color and diversity of these water-wise plants.
